The Denso VS-E 6-axis robot featured in this work cell shows tool changing to add flexibility for assembly applications. This work cell is often utilized in Proof-of-Concept presentations with customer end-of-arm-tooling to develop time studies and measure accuracy. It can also have Cognex / DVT Vision added to its arm or above it on a fixed mount for vision guided applications.

The robot will then start its standard demo running at 15% of rated speed. This is so the Internet can keep up with the world's fastest 6-axis assembly robot. The output must then be reset by pressing the OFF button below the image before the robot may be triggered again.
The centerpiece of this work cell is a Denso VS-E series 650mm reach 5 Kg payload assembly robot. Other product represented in this assembly work cell include:
- Maytec Aluminum structural framing
- Applied Robotics collision detector and tool changing system
- STI safety light curtain and door interlock sensors
- Rittal's CP6500 Pendant arm system
- Cutler-Hammer PanelMate HMI
- Omron Wireless DeviceNet hardware
The entire work cell, 4 nodes, is being controlled over DeviceNet including the wireless link back to an Omron PLC on one of the other machines in the lab. |
