Gast Manufacturing's Line of DDL Linear Pumps

Review the advantages of a pump with no moving parts!

Linear Air Compressors
For applications requiring extremely quiet and highly efficient operation and simple maintenance, Gast's Oiless DDL Linear pumps have found widespread use in the medical, industrial, chemical, environmental and scientific industries. Performance ranges from 0.81 to 6.6 cfm (23 to 187 Lpm) pressures to 7.3 psig (0.50 bar) with an operating noise level as low as 38 dB(a). Operation is based upon the principles of electromagnetic oscillation - eliminating the need for sliding parts, minimizing power consumption and offering high efficiency. Because there are no sliding parts there is no need for lubrication - the exhausted air is always clean and particle-free.

Here's how our Linear performance compares with that of our other popular positive displacement compressors. Use these charts to see if a Linear pump is the right choice for your application.

Why use a Linear pump?

  • Long Life - The moving parts consist of an actuating rod supported by two special synthetic rubber diaphragms which oscillate laterally, permitting long-term continuous operation - a minimum of 30,000 hours of service-free life on many models.
  • Low Noise Level - Sound insulation was a prime consideration in the design of the pneumatic circuit and mechanical section. The result: a surprisingly low operating noise level - as low as 38 dB(a).
  • High Efficiency - Operation is based upon the principles of electromagnetic oscillation which eliminates the need for sliding parts, thereby minimizing power consumption and offering high efficiency.
  • Compact and Powerful - Oilless linear pumps incorporate two electromagnets, one at the front and one at the rear, which act upon permanent magnets, providing perfectly balanced oscillation and ensuring a compact yet powerful device.
  • No Lubrication Necessary - Because there are no sliding parts, there is no need for lubrication. An added advantage: the exhausted air is always clean and particle-free.
  • Smooth Air Flow - The exhaust rate is uniform and pulsation is minimal, making the unit ideally suited for applications requiring consistent air pressure and supply.
  • Simple Maintenance - Other than the occasional filter cleaning, long-term operation is virtually maintenance-free. Replacement parts come in a cassette.
