PLC 103 Advanced PLC Programming
Class Description:

In a continuing progression of our PLC series, the student will be introduced to the different methods of networking. The session will introduce different networking methods including: Ethernet/IP, CompoNet and DeviceNet. The course will provide details on each network, reinforce the use of instructions in networks, and will offer hands-on activities utilizing software modules from the CX-One software suite.
Prerequisite: PLC 102

TOPICS:

  • Introduction to Omron’s different I/O and data exchange networks: Ethernet/IP, Ethernet, CompoNet, DeviceNet
  • Introduction to Routing Tables and explanation of purpose
  • Ethernet/IP
    • Explanation, Configuration, Setup and Purpose of Ethernet/IP
    • Use Network Configurator to set up Ethernet/IP network
  • Ethernet TCP/IP and UDP/IP
  • CompoNet
    • Explanation, Configuration, Setup and Purpose of CompoNet
    • Explain use of auto-configuration and CX-Integrator for network setup
  • DeviceNet
    • Explanation, Configuration, Setup and Purpose of DeviceNet
    • Explain use of CX-Integrator for network setup
Lunch is provided for day classes, and dinner is provided for evening classes (dinner available at class start).
