How the program works
Criteria for IPD Order

• Ship-to destinations are restricted to the US and Puerto Rico
• Must not be a normally stocked item in the US
• Individual item must not exceed 108" in length and 70" in height
• Product Origin/Production must be SMC Japan
• Occasionally, we receive communication from SMC Japan that the cargo is too large to ship IPD and the shipment is redirected to the local RDC. In this untypical situation, SMC will cross-dock the item using priority domestic carrier service at no charge.
• If for some reason FedEx does not receive accurate ship-to information and it is recognized in Japan, FedEx will divert the shipment to SMC Indianapolis and the item will be cross-docked and shipped to the customer immediately utilizing priority service.

Fees
Fees for direct shipment from Japan will be included on your invoice at $6.00 per pound. This charge will appear on the invoice as a separate line item. As this is a PrePay and Add program, we are not able to ship freight collect.
